Last week hasn’t been the best reading week for me. I was able to read quite a lot for the past weeks, but my current reads haven’t been going that well unfortunately due to personal things. But… there’s still more than enough to talk about in today’s WWW.
WWW Wednesday is a weekly book meme article I love to write. In this article, I’ll tell you about what book(s) I last finished reading, What book(s) I’m currently reading and What I’m planning to read next. I also love to hear what all of your WWW’s are so feel free to leave a reply! Happy Reading!
Looking back to what I posted about in last week’s WWW I see that I still haven’t finished reading the two books I wanted to finish; Warrior Witch & Senlin Ascends – oops haha. I did finish 2 other books though. Both of them contemporary romance and both of them by authors I always really love to read.
I read an ARC of Caulk Tease by Megan Green & Alexandria Bishop that I immensely enjoyed – extended review can be read HERE.
And I also finished reading my ARC copy of A Pizza my Heart by Teagan Hunter (review is going online tomorrow), the first book in a new series by her. I am in love with the set of characters she introduced me to and already cannot wait to get my hands on the next book, I Knead you Tonight.
Yesterday, I decided to also start reading a book on my kindle that I recently bought and felt the need to start reading: Knotted by Pam Goodwin, book 1 in the Trails of Sin trilogy. I ended up finishing the book yesterday evening already. Every single second I had to spent, I spent it reading this book. It was breathtakingly beautiful. It left an enormous impact on me. This book strips you bare and leaves you raw in the best ways possible.
Technically, I’m still reading Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft and Warrior Witch by Danielle l. Jensen. But my mind is so fogged up atm; I just can’t seem to focus on both these books right now so I haven’t been actually reading them since last week I guess? oops. So they’ve been moved to the background for now.
I seem to have fallen back into a romance mood (obviously, when looking back to what I did manage to finish reading last week haha) so that means I started looking for books on my kindle since most of the books on there are Romance. I’ve had several ARC’s still waiting to be read, and ended up starting a YA paranormal romance by an author who recently asked me to review her book. I couldn’t resist, because I love paranormal romance and I really liked the synopsis of this one. I always love discovering new to me authors so I started reading the first bit of the book and immediately decided to continue reading since the writing was to my liking right away. Which book? you might ask… I’m talking about Summer’s End by Kristy Brown. More about this book in upcoming Friday’s Friday First article. Stay tuned.
She wakes up in hospital, badly burned with no memory.
He’s been trained to kill her before she burns the world to ashes.
When they finally meet, will he be able to take her life now that he’s started to feel for her?
His fate is already written.
The prophecy is already set…
Love between them is forbidden.
I also decided to buy the e-book for book 2 in the Trails of Sin trilogy; Buckled by Pam Goodwin. I just cannot wait to read book 2 and 3 in the series, that’s about characters I fell in love with being secondary characters in the first book. So I’ll be starting book 2 sometime today as well.
Nothing will stop me from reassembling the life that went terribly wrong.
Not the law.
Not our enemies.
Not even Maybe Quinn.
The gorgeous, quarrelsome journalist shouldn’t have meddled.
I shouldn’t have let her stay.
But she’s hiding something in those deceptive blue eyes.
Something deeper than her thirst for a news story.
I make a deal with her to buy time.
To unravel her lies. To play with her. To satisfy my darker appetites.
When she buckles beneath my belt, I’ll send her away.
Unless I buckle first.
Well, I hope I get myself to continue Senlin Ascends and hopefully Warrior Witch as well because I really want to know how the malediction trilogy is going to end.
And then there are a couple of books that I also talked about in last week’s WWW article, that are still very high upon my current TBR: Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman, the first book in the Aurora Rising series. This was suppose to a group read but I have a feeling it’s going to get postponed, so I’ll probably end up reading it myself because I really don’t want to wait another month or so to pick it up seeing there’s a group read of a Curse so Dark and Lonely coming in between as well (begin July).
I also hope to pick up Highland Jewel by May McGoldrick very soon, the second installment in the Royal Highlander series .I’ve had the pleasure of reading an arc of the first book in the series, Highland Crown – you can read my review HERE – so when I got the opportunity to read and review this second book in the series I jumped up and down from happiness.
