[WWW WEDNESDAY] #11

I’e had an amazing reading week last week. I managed to finish 5 books! Not all of them were as good as I hoped they’d be but that’s okay. I’m finally back on track with the Goodreads challenge now, hihi.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly book meme article I love to write. In this article, I’ll tell you about what book(s) I last finished reading, What book(s) I’m currently reading and What I’m planning to read next. I also love to hear what all of your WWW’s are so feel free to leave a reply! Happy Reading!

I finished 5! books in the past week, which is insane haha!

I finally finished Ice like Fire by Sara Raasch, the second installment in the Snow like Ashes trilogy. This was a buddy-read that I did with Candyce & Isabelle from the Book duchesses. I got a couple of days behind on schedule because I originally had to finish the book last Wednesday but ultimately finished it in the weekend hihi.

My review on this book is going online tomorrow. I felt quite contradictory towards this book. There were some really enjoyable elements in this book, but I’ve had some remarks as well. I’m really curious to see how it’ll end in the final installment, Frost like Night, which I’ll be buddy-reading with Candyce & Isabelle in April.

Private Prick by Ember Cole was an arc on my kindle that I started reading last week and I finished it within a day since it was more of a short story than a full length novel. It was fast-paced and had some likable elements but it wasn’t spectacular either. a fun in-between read.

I also finished reading Blood Laws by Lexi C. Foss, the third installment in the Immortal Curse series. This paranormal romance series has rapidly become one of my favorites, alongside the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh and the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter.

This was such a fantastic read!!! It may be my favorite in the series so far and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. I have 2 other books by this author on the way so I can read them hopefully before March 3rd, when Lexi will be in Amsterdam. I’m going to meet up with her and I am SO EXCITED about this! My review of this book will go online upcoming Sunday, January 27th.

In between, I started reading Driven by K. Kromberg on the kindle. This was one I wanted to read for a while now since it looked interesting and Passionflix also made it into a movie, which I want to watch. Unfortunately, this book wasn’t my cup of tea. I had more remarks on this book to mention instead of positive things. I personally can’t see the appeal of the book. The trailer of the movie however looks really interesting so I may have to watch it indeed in the (nearby) future.

And yesterday evening, I finished my read of the Failing Hours by Sara Ney, the second installment in the How to date a Douchebag series. It was really enjoyable. Had some remarks here and there, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and I definitely want to continue with this series.

Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Nick Houston is as tough as they come, and he and his K-9, Saxon, are hot on the trail of a major illegal gun dealer. But his best lead—the beautiful owner of the Dog Park Café, Andi Hardt––is not cooperating. Doesn’t matter how sexy she is, or that his dog seems to be in love with her. She’s a suspect and he won’t cross that line. Ever.

Andi Hardt sank everything into her dream business—the Dog Park Café, a restaurant catering to dogs as much as people. Now everything is in jeopardy because of one extremely frustrating, incredibly hot state trooper. Like it or not, she’s in Nick’s crosshairs, and he’s calling the shots. Her only option: cooperate, or lose everything she’s worked so hard for.

Nick and Andi are catapulted straight into the danger zone, forcing them to make life-altering choices, and face their desires. Risking his life for Andi is the easy part. Risking his heart is the toughest assignment Nick will face.

I am so happy that I received an arc of Armed ‘N Ready. It’s the second book in the Federal K-9 series, which releases on February 18th. I’ve read the first book twice already and love it so so much so I was aching to get my hands on this second book. I was originally planning to read this book in February, but since I was up to date on my January TBR and received the arc of this book on my Kindle yesterday evening, I couldn’t wait any longer! And my god, it starts off so good!!! If it’ll remain this good, I’m going to give it at least 4 stars rating, if not 5!

Catalia “Cat” Fisa lives disguised as a soothsayer in a traveling circus. She is perfectly content avoiding the danger and destiny the Gods-and her homicidal mother-have saddled her with. That is, until Griffin, an ambitious warlord from the magic-deprived south, fixes her with his steely gaze and upsets her illusion of safety forever.

Griffin knows Cat is the Kingmaker, the woman who divines the truth through lies. He wants her as a powerful weapon for his newly conquered realm-until he realizes he wants her for much more than her magic. Cat fights him at every turn, but Griffin’s fairness, loyalty, and smoldering advances make him increasingly hard to resist and leave her wondering if life really does have to be short, and lived alone.

Yesterday evening, I started my re-read of a Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet, the first book in the Kingmaker Chronicles. I’ve devoured Everything this author has written so far and she rapidly became one of my all-time favorite authors after reading her Kingmaker Chronicles and Nightchaser as well. I was in need of a re-read because I love this world and these characters so so much and I’m thoroughly enjoying being a part of it once again.

a Promise of Fire is actually the last book of my pre-made January TBR stack, so I’m really happy about the fact that I aaaaalmost completed my entire January TBR. So this means that after finishing my re-read of a Promise of Fire, I’m able to choose whatever…

And I’m thinking about picking a book from the stack of books I received this month so far. There are quite some books that I received already this month, and I am so frigging excited about all of them. There are books I want to re-read like Three Day Fiancee and Nightchaser, but also new books I’m desperate to start reading asap.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! I’m really excited to hear about the books you’ve just finished reading, currently reading and planning on reading next. Love to hear from you. Have a nice Wednesday lovelies!

haha yeah I didn’t start all 5 of them last week though. Some, like the buddy-read for example, I started a couple of weeks ago. It just all came together like this in the end haha. And one of the books, private prick, was a short story what I wasn’t expecting so I was done before I knew it, lol.

Glad to hear the Gilded Wolves is awesome! I’m loving my re-read of a Promise of Fire atm hihi.
