In this week’s WWW Wednesday there are some new books I can talk about since I finished some and started some new reads as well.
WWW Wednesday is a weekly book meme article I love to write. In this article, I’ll tell you about what book(s) I last finished reading, What book(s) I’m currently reading and What I’m planning to read next. I also love to hear what all of your WWW’s are so feel free to leave a reply! Happy Reading!
I finished reading the Valiant by Lesley Livingston, which I was buddy-reading with Marie from @mixed_matched_socks over at Instagram. To me, this was the second time reading this book. I first read it back in 2017, right before Lesley was visiting a YA book event over here in the Netherlands and I fell in love so hard with this author and this book.
The second time reading this book was just as enjoyable as the first time. It was addictive, enthralling and exciting. I’m so pumped to read book 2 in February. I’ll be buddyreading it with Marie again, and also Candyce & Isabelle from the Bookdutchesses blog.
I also finished reading Highland Crown by May McGoldrick, which is the first book in the Royal Highlander series. This book is due to release on March 26th and I had the opportunity to read an ARC copy of it, which I couldn’t resist. I was in the mood to read a Historical romance that’s set in Scotland, so this one seemed like the perfect one to pick up then.
It has been a while since I’ve read a Historical romance fiction book and I’m so glad I ended up enjoying it so much. I’m already really looking forward to reading its sequel, when the time comes it’ll release. My review on this book will go online on March 26th, when it releases.
There’s still a lot I’m currently reading. 3 books actually.
I’m almost done with the buddy read of Ice like Fire by Sara Raasch, the second installment in the Snow like Ashes trilogy. I’m enjoying the book a lot. It started off really strong but it kind of sagged in the middle part of the book to be honest. It was still fast-paced but I missed some excitement maybe?
I’m set to finish chapter 25 through 30 today, which means I’m almost done with the book (I’ll be reading chapter 31 and 32 tomorrow which are the last chapters of the book) and I can’t wait to find out what’ll happen towards the end.
I’ve started reading a new ARC on the kindle; Private Prick by Ember Cole, which is a contemporary romance with military elements. I was in the mood for a read like this and still needed to read this arc so decided it would be a good one to start reading. Just a couple of chapters in so far, so there’s not much to say about it yet. I really like the pace of it so far and the writing as well. To be continued…
And then I’m also reading a paranormal romance book. One I’ve wanted to read this month and I’m glad I got around to start it now: Blood Heart by Lexi C. Foss, which is the third installment in the Immortal Curse series. I’ve loved reading book 1 and 2 so much – book 1 is one of the best first books in a paranormal romance series I’ve read so far for example – and this third one starts off so good!
The characters are already so lovable right from the start and the writing is so addictive and fast-paced. The author’s words had me smiling like a lunatic on the second page already. I have a feeling this book is going to battle for the #1 spot in the series when it comes to which one’s my favorite haha. More on this in next week’s WWW article, I’m sure.
So far, I’ve been able to finish a lot of books I originally put on my January TBR. I haven’t strayed from this tbr stack yet, so I’m very proud of myself, lol. It really motivates me a lot, by having a tbr list in my new bookish planner – more about this planner to be found in yesterday’s article, which you can read HERE. I’m glad that my mood has been kind to me and that I therefore was able to pick up books from the prior made tbr stack.
I’ve originally put 9 books on my January tbr. I’ve finished 5, almost 6 now and I’m currently reading number 7, Blood Heart. The book I’m reading on the kindle isn’t one that was originally on the TBR list but that’s okay. We’ll see what I’ll manage to finish reading. At the moment, there are still 2 more books on the originally made January TBR, which are:
- a Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet (the Kingmaker Chronicles #1)
- The failing Hours by Sara Ney (How to date a Douchebag #2)
I’m feeling quite positive about this month’s TBR and I’m really hoping I’ll be able to finish all of the books I originally set out to read in January. a Promise of Fire will be a re-read (third time actually, lol) and the failing hours is contemporary romance, so I’m sure both are going to be fast-paced reads.
