[WISHLIST WEDNESDAY] PRIORITY #1

Putting Wishlists together is maybe just as much fun as buying the book themselves I think. I love discovering new books and add them to my wishlists so I can hopefully buy them in the future. I have many different Wishlists on different webshops like Bol.com, the Bookdepository, and Amazon – the shops I most often buy from.

At the moment, there are a couple of hundred books on my wishlists – I kid you not; #booknerdissues – and I like to highlight a few of them in my Wishlist Wednesday article.

♥ Becoming his Monster by Amelia Hutchins
(Playing with monsters #3)

Sacrifice your soul?
Check.
Die to protect those you love?
Check.
Come back as something the world hasn’t seen since the dawn of mankind?
Check.
Make those who hurt me wish the Gods had never created them?
I’m still working on this one…
Are you ready to play? I’m coming back. I’m more, darker, deadlier, and I’m pissed.
Heaven has fallen, Hell has risen and the walls that once protected man from monsters are down. Foe’s become friends, enemies become lovers, and this world is thrown into chaos unlike anything it’s ever seen before. I’m ready to play now, I’m ready to win.

This is the third book in the Playing with monster series by one of my fave paranormal romance authors, Amelia Hutchins. I love her books so so much and of course it’s a given that whenever there’s a new book releasing, I need it ASAP. This one was released on January 1st 2019, so it’s definitely on my priority list right now. I cannot wait to see how the story continues and from the reviews it has gotten so far, I’m in for an exciting adventure yet again.

♥ Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne

Seventeen-year-old Stella Ainsley wants just one thing: to go somewhere—anywhere—else. Her home is a floundering spaceship that offers few prospects, having been orbiting an ice-encased Earth for two hundred years. When a private ship hires her as a governess, Stella jumps at the chance. The captain of the Rochester, nineteen-year-old Hugo Fairfax, is notorious throughout the fleet for being a moody recluse and a drunk. But with Stella he’s kind.

But the Rochester harbors secrets: Stella is certain someone is trying to kill Hugo, and the more she discovers, the more questions she has about his role in a conspiracy threatening the fleet.

a Jane Eyre re-telling set in space? GIMME GIMME GIMME! This sounds like The Perfect book for me since I am obsessed with Jane Eyre’s story as well as YA Sci-Fi reads. I cannot wait to get my hands on this one and hopefully read it soon as well!

♥ Seafire by Nathalie C. Parker
(Seafire #1)

After her family is killed by corrupt warlord Aric Athair and his bloodthirsty army of Bullets, Caledonia Styx is left to chart her own course on the dangerous and deadly seas. She captains her ship, the Mors Navis, with a crew of girls and women just like her, who have lost their families and homes because of Aric and his men. The crew has one mission: stay alive, and take down Aric’s armed and armored fleet.

But when Caledonia’s best friend and second-in-command barely survives an attack thanks to help from a Bullet looking to defect, Caledonia finds herself questioning whether to let him join their crew. Is this boy the key to taking down Aric Athair once and for all . . . or will he threaten everything the women of the Mors Navis have worked for?

Ever since coming across this book for the first time, somewhere in 2018, I’ve been so excited about it. Yet, I haven’t bought it yet?! Such a shame! So it’s definitely on my priority to buy list right now and I can’t wait to buy and read it. It sounds like such an awesome read and omg I love this cover so so much. Can’t wait to see how it’ll look as a hardcover edition!

♥ Heart of Thorns by Bree Barton
(Heart of Thorns #1)

In the ancient river kingdom, touch is a battlefield, bodies the instruments of war. Seventeen-year-old Mia Rose has pledged her life to hunting Gwyrach: women who can manipulate flesh, bones, breath, and blood.

Not women. Demons. The same demons who killed her mother without a single scratch.

But when Mia’s father suddenly announces her marriage to the prince, she is forced to trade in her knives and trousers for a sumptuous silk gown. Only after the wedding goes disastrously wrong does she discover she has dark, forbidden magic—the very magic she has sworn to destroy

This synopsis has me so EXCITED. It looks like my kind of read and I really don’t understand myself sometimes. How could I be this excited for a book but still haven’t bought and read it yet when it’s out there for a while now? Ugh… Definitely one I’m hoping to buy really soon!

♥ Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat
(Captive Prince #1)

Damen is a warrior hero to his people, and the rightful heir to the throne of Akielos. But when his half brother seizes power, Damen is captured, stripped of his identity, and sent to serve the prince of an enemy nation as a pleasure slave.

Beautiful, manipulative, and deadly, his new master, Prince Laurent, epitomizes the worst of the court at Vere. But in the lethal political web of the Veretian court, nothing is as it seems, and when Damen finds himself caught up in a play for the throne, he must work together with Laurent to survive and save his country. For Damen, there is just one rule: never, ever reveal his true identity. Because the one man Damen needs is the one man who has more reason to hate him than anyone else…

This book has quite the hype going on for a while now. I keep hearing only great things about it. It’s been on my wishlist even way before it got hyped but still I haven’t gotten around to buy it yet – shame on me. More and more people keep recommending it to me as well, so aside from the enthusiasm that was already present, these people and their excitement have me hyped even more now.

♥ Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft
(the Books of Babel #1)

The Tower of Babel is the greatest marvel in the world. Immense as a mountain, the ancient Tower holds unnumbered ringdoms, warring and peaceful, stacked one on the other like the layers of a cake. It is a world of geniuses and tyrants, of airships and steam engines, of unusual animals and mysterious machines. Soon after arriving for his honeymoon at the Tower, the mild-mannered headmaster of a small village school, Thomas Senlin, gets separated from his wife, Marya, in the overwhelming swarm of tourists, residents, and miscreants.

Senlin is determined to find Marya, but to do so he’ll have to navigate madhouses, ballrooms, and burlesque theaters. He must survive betrayal, assassination, and the long guns of a flying fortress. But if he hopes to find his wife, he will have to do more than just endure. This quiet man of letters must become a man of action.

I’ve read a lot of good things about this series so far and the synopsis of it, has me so excited as well. This looks like such an intriguing and interesting read and it’s definitely one that has priority at this very moment. I hope to get around to buy and read it soon!
