[MOVIES & TV SERIES] June 2019 wrap up

Aside from reading, I’ve always loved watching movies and tv series and all that. Ever since I was a young girl, I was addicted you could say haha. So I though it’d be fun to write a wrap-up of some sorts on what I’ve watched each month as well as what I’m looking forward to seeing.

I love to hear what you’ve been seeing and looking forward to as well. I always love getting new recommendations 🙂 Happy reading!

ALADDIN @ Cinema

A kind-hearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true.

As a true Disney fangirl, there was no way I wasn’t going to see this movie in theaters. I love the remakes they’ve been doing over the past few years and the trailer of Aladdin looked so good! The movie did not disappoint and I really loved the new songs they’ve added as well.

The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization.

I’ve loved seeing the original movies and was so excited to see both these actors together again on screen because they are so much fun to watch when they’re in the same room as one another haha. I wasn’t super impressed with the movie overall and felt like the original movies were better. But Chris and Tessa were really fun together though. I do hope there’ll be a second movie since this one felt more like an introduction one. I’d love to see what they’ll do with a movie in which the story continues after how this one ends.

A New York cop and his wife go on a European vacation to reinvigorate the spark in their marriage, but end up getting framed and on the run for the death of an elderly billionaire.

Unfortunately, both me and my husband weren’t impressed with this one and we didn’t even finish it. Such a shame, since we both love Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston and I really loved previous movies of both of them. The way it was filmed was just not our cup of tea and I really felt like both these awesome actors could’ve done a much better movie that just.wasn’t.This, lol.

A new theme park, built on the original site of Jurassic Park, creates a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, which escapes containment and goes on a killing spree.

This was the 5th time I believe that I’ve watched Jurassic World. I just can’t get enough of these movies. I love the original Jurassic Park movies but the ones with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are so good as well. Every once in a while I just love re-watching these movies and it was yet again a great experience. I hope to re-watch Fallen Kingdom soon as well.

I AM MOTHER @ Netflix

A teenage girl is raised underground by a kindly robot “Mother” — designed to repopulate the earth following the extinction of mankind. But their unique bond is threatened when an inexplicable stranger arrives with alarming news.

I love movies with SciFi elements, especially when there are droids involved. This one was really interesting and I loved the acting. The actress who played the main characters was truly amazing. Definitely a movie I recommend if you like these kind of movies. There’s not much action or anything and it’s a bit slow paced at times, but that’s typical for movies like these I think.

SHERLOCK Season 1-4 @ Netflix

A modern update finds the famous sleuth and his doctor partner solving crime in 21st century London.

This was my husbands and mine obsession the past month. We’ve binge watched all seasons that are available on Netflix and it was amazing! I loved the modern day setting they went for and all of the actors, not only Cumberbatch and Freeman, were so perfectly cast! I can’t get enough of it. I NEED MORE!

ONCE UPON A TIME Season 1 @ Netflix

A young woman with a troubled past is drawn to a small town in Maine where fairy tales are to be believed.

I got stuck watching the series years ago when I was at Season 3 I believe. I recently felt like I wanted to watch again but since I lost some details over the years, I decided to re-watch from the beginning. So I’ve been watching Season 1 and hope to continue with season 2 in July.

THE 100 Season 3 @ Netflix

Set ninety-seven years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, when a spaceship housing humanity’s lone survivors sends one hundred juvenile delinquents back to Earth, in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet.

I got a little behind with this one. Been loving it from the start, but haven’t watched in so long. I decided to finally continue where I left off which was at the beginning of Season 3. I’m almost done now and hope to continue season 4 next month.

OUR PLANET @ Netflix

Documentary series focusing on the breadth of the diversity of habitats around the world, from the remote Arctic wilderness and mysterious deep oceans to the vast landscapes of Africa and diverse jungles of South America.

I love watching documentaries from time to time and Our Planet looked really interesting. So far, I’ve seen a couple of episodes, it’s been fun to watch. Love to see all the beauty our planet has to offer.

  • Chernobyl
  • Westworld | This one isn’t on Netflix but it’s on HBO and I’ve watched the first episode a while ago. I really liked the concept of it all but haven’t gotten around to continue the series yet. Really hope to do so soon.

  • Toy Story 4 |
  • Five Feet Apart |
  • X-Men Dark Phoenix |
  • Godzilla 2 | I know the chances of seeing this one in cinema are small because my husband doesn’t like these kind of movies haha. I could go see it myself, but my son has summer vacation after next week (and the upcoming week is quite busy with preparing for our holiday trip) so the chances of seeing it myself are slim with Milan running around the house all the time for 6 weeks, lol.

Spiderman: Far from Home | We already bought tickets to go see Spiderman on July 5th because we wanted to go see it before our holiday, but it looks like we won’t be able to go on the 5th unfortunately. So we’ll have to wait until we’re back from holiday and Milan goes to my parents for a sleepover.

The Lion King | This is one I’ve been looking forward so much! I really love the new Disney adaptions they’re making and the lion King has always been one of my favorites when I was younger. I’ve re-watched it countless of times over the years. Can’t wait to see it on the big screen (I watched it in the cinema’s when I was younger but I was really young when it came out so there’s not much I remember from that movie theatre experience haha)

Stuber | We saw a trailer when we were at the cinema’s earlier this month and this looks like such a fun movie! I’ve always loved movies like these in which 2 people are suddenly bound together to do a road trip/adventure, or whatever. Definitely a must watch to both me and my husband.
