[MOVIES & TV SERIES] January Wrap up and what I want to see Next

Aside from reading, I’ve always loved watching movies and tv series and all that. Ever since I was a young girl, I was addicted you could say haha. So I though it’d be fun to write a wrap-up of some sorts on what I’ve watched each month as well as what I’m looking forward to seeing.

I love to hear what you’ve been seeing and looking forward to as well. I always love getting new recommendations 🙂 Happy reading!

CREED 2 @ Cinema

Under the tutelage of Rocky Balboa, heavyweight contender Adonis Creed faces off against Viktor Drago, son of Ivan Drago.

My husband is a huge fan of boxing films and we’ve watched quite a few already together, over the years. We recently re-watched Creed 1 so we were ready to go see its sequel in theatre. I think it was a really entertaining movie. It was quite predictable but lots of these kind of movies are. But I loved the acting, it was really Good I think, and the overall ‘feel’ of the movie. I’d definitely be interested in seeing another Creed movie!

A hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.

I’ve watched this movie some years ago and I love it so much. Toothless is one of my fave animated animal characters. I’m so pumped to see the third movie and I thought it was about time to introduce my son to this franchise as well. So we watched it together his month.

The hot-headed young D’Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war.

I thought it was entertaining and the special effects were better than expected as well. I liked the story-line and the settings were absolutely beautiful too. But, given the set of amazing actors in this entire movie, I just feel like something’s ‘off’… I can’t really pinpoint exactly what it is, but given the amazing actors present, I wished they would’ve gone a different route with it.

PEAKY BLINDERS 1 & 2 @ Netflix

A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, England; centered on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby.

This is our – my husband and myself – current obsession. We’ve been watching this serie for a week now and have started season 2 already. It’s really awesome. The acting is marvelous, the settings are great, the story is interesting and captivating and in my opinion, it’s a must-watch!

OUTLANDER SEASON 1 & 2 @ Netflix

Outlander is a drama television series based upon author Diana Gabaldon’s historical time travel book series of the same name. Developed by Ronald D. Moore and produced by Sony Pictures Television and Left Bank Pictures for Starz

As I talked about in last month’s Wrap up, I started re-watching Season 1 of Outlander and this month I’ve finished watching season 1 and also started watching Season 2. I am so obsessed all of a sudden with this series. I watched it before and really liked it, but it seems like I can’t think of anything else anymore nowadays, lol. I’m even excited to buy and read the books, something I wasn’t really interested in before. Can’t wait to completely catch up and start watching Season 4!

After an ex-con returns to her fishing village, a dead body leads her to uncover the secrets of the town and its half-siren, half-human residents.

A friend of mine was pushing me – I’m at the receiving end for once, since I normally push books and things like that on other people, lol – to go watch this series. She was so excited about it and was positive that I would’ve love it since it’s about sirens and it has adult romance in it. So yeah, That combination definitely had me intrigued, lol. I haven’t seen much of it so far, just a couple of episodes, but I’m really liking it so far and can’t wait to continue watching this series! It’s mysterious and intriguing.

  • the Jurassic Games
  • the Last Legion
  • Destination IO
  • In the Name of the King
  • the Space between Us
  • the Revenant

  • Mary Queen of Scots
  • Glass
  • How to train your dragon 3
  • Bumblebee
  • Instant Family
  • the Quake
  • Alita: Battle Angel

I’m not sure if we’ll be able to go to the cinema in February, but if so then I definitely want to go see at least the following three movies in cinema:

Alita: Battle Angel. I’ve been looking forward to this release ever since this movie was announced. I am obsessed with Cameron’s work and the trailers for this one look so frigging epic. So that’s definitely a movie that has priority to me hihi.

Instant Family looks like a really fun comedy movie, which we both love to watch from time to time. And we both really like Wahlberg’s acting so this is a must-watch to both my husband and myself as well.

Bumblebee is still on our to watch list too but at this point, I’m not sure we’ll be able to go see at least 1 movie in February since it’s such a busy month for us. We’ll see… We both love Michael Bay’s work and watched and re-watched the transformer movies multiple times now. The trailer looked interesting and it seems to be another entertaining movie by this director.

What have you loved watching in January? Favorite movie and/or a specific TV series you loved? I’m always looking for new recs! Love to hear from you!
