[MONTHLY RELEASES] February 2019, Romance and Other…

In yesterday’s article, I showed you guys my favorite Young Adult book releases of February and today I’m going to show you the Romance & Other releases.

As well as with the YA releases, there’s SO MUCH awesomeness coming our way in February and I am so excited about them all! Here are my favorites!

I was Anastasia by Ariel Lawhon
Genre: Historical Fiction
Release date: 5th

I Was AnastasiaAriel Lawhon, a rising star in historical suspense, unravels the extraordinary twists and turns in Anna Anderson’s fifty-year battle to be recognized as Anastasia Romanov. Is she the beloved daughter, revered icon, and Russian grand duchess or is she an imposter, liar, and the thief of another woman’s legacy?

Countless others have rendered their verdict. Now it is your turn.

Russia, July 17, 1918: Under direct orders from Vladimir Lenin, Bolshevik secret police force Anastasia Romanov, along with the entire imperial family, into a damp basement in Siberia, where they face a merciless firing squad. None survive. At least that is what the executioners have always claimed.
Germany, February 17, 1920: A young woman bearing an uncanny resemblance to Anastasia Romanov is pulled shivering and senseless from a canal. Refusing to explain her presence in the freezing water or even acknowledge her rescuers, she is taken to the hospital where an examination reveals that her body is riddled with countless horrific scars. When she finally does speak, this frightened, mysterious young woman claims to be the Russian grand duchess.
As rumors begin to circulate through European society that the youngest Romanov daughter has survived the massacre at Ekaterinburg, old enemies and new threats are awakened. The question of who Anna Anderson is and what actually happened to Anastasia Romanov spans fifty years and touches three continents. This thrilling saga is every bit as moving and momentous as it is harrowing and twisted.

I love reading Historical Fiction from time to time and a Romanov re-telling sounds so amazing! This is one I’ve added to my Historical Fiction wishlist and I hope to get around to buy and read it sometime this year! The hardcover edition of this book is already available but there’s a paperback edition coming our way in February and therefore I decided to add the book to this list as well.

A new Jodi Ellen Malpas release has me Always excited! I haven’t had the chance to put in a pre-order but this is definitely one I want to buy and read this year. I’ve devoured her books so far, and I can’t wait to see if
I’m going to love this one as well!

Text me Baby one more Time by Teagan Hunter
#4 Text
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release date: 11th

I love you, he said.
Forever, he said.
Turns out, he lied.
When he leaves me high and dry after a cross-country move, I push him out of my life as much as I can, which is hard to do when the guy who broke your heart also happens to be the most famous dude in town. After a disastrous year, he’s aiming to rehab his reputation, and I just so happen to be aiming for a promotion at the paper.
So, we strike a deal, and it’s a win-win all around.
Besides, what’s the harm in a few dates to charity galas anyway? He’s arrogant, a total jerk. There’s no way I’ll fall for him…again. I used to love him. Now I hate him…I think.

I love second chance romances and I am OBSESSED with this authors work so me being excited about this one is an understatement! I have yet to read the third book in the series, but that’s something I hope to get around to this month. But I am already so frigging ready for this release! This series is one of the most fun romcom series I’ve come across so far and I’d highly recommend Teagan’s books!

Dear George, Dear Mary: a Novel of George Washington’s First Love
Genre: Romance/Historical Fiction/American History
Release date: 19th

Dear George, Dear Mary: A Novel of George Washington's First LoveA novel about heiress Mary Philipse’s relationship with George Washington, based on historical accounts, letters, and personal journals by nine-time New York Emmy award-winning journalist Mary Calvi.

“Love is said to be an involuntary passion, and it is, therefore, contended that it cannot be resisted.” –George Washington

Did unrequited love help spark a flame that ignited a cause that became the American Revolution? Never before has this story about George Washington been told. Crafted from hundreds of letters, witness accounts, and journal entries, Dear George, Dear Mary explores George’s relationship with his first love, New York heiress Mary Philipse, the richest belle in Colonial America.

From elegant eighteenth-century society to bloody battlefields, the novel creates breathtaking scenes and riveting characters. Dramatic portraits of the two main characters unveil a Washington on the precipice of greatness, using the very words he spoke and wrote, and his ravishing love, whose outward beauty and refinement disguise a complex inner struggle.

Dear George, Dear Mary reveals why George Washington had such bitter resentment toward the Brits, established nearly two decades before the American Revolution, and it unveils details of a deception long hidden from the world that led Mary Philipse to be named a traitor, condemned to death and left with nothing. While that may sound like the end, ultimately both Mary and George achieve what they always wanted.

I’ve always been interested in American History and from time to time I really love reading Historical Fiction books. This one looks so awesome and I couldn’t control myself… Even though I shouldn’t pre-order another book, this one was bought anyway, lol. Really excited to read it, hopefully soon!

Beautifully Broken Pieces by Catherine Cowles
#1 Sutter Lake
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release date: 25th

Beautifully Broken Pieces (Sutter Lake, #1)A woman who’s lost everything.

A man battling the ghosts of his past.

When Taylor’s solitude is interrupted by the rugged cop, they find that the very thing they were avoiding might be just what they both need. As their iron wills clash and passion flares…a killer lurks. And you never know who might be caught in the crosshairs.

I’m not familiar with this author yet and came across this book by accident and I couldn’t just not put it on my wishlist. This looks like it’d be a beautiful read and can’t wait to someday buy and read it. It looks like it has the right kind of romance, mystery and thriller elements combined and I’m curious to find out what I’ll think of it.

The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Military Fiction
Release date: 26th

The Last LetterBeckett,

If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have.

I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me.

It’s too much for anyone to endure. It’s not fair. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart. She’s going to need help. So if I’m gone, that means I can’t be there for Ella. I can’t help them through this.

But you can. So I’m begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family. Please don’t make her go through it alone.

To say I am excited about this one is a given. This is one of my most highly anticipated 2019 releases, regardless which genre I’m talking about. I’ve devoured all of Rebecca’s books over the years and I get even more hyped for every new book coming our way. This one is receiving so many good reviews already and I cannot wait to start reading it myself. I’m secretly still hoping that an ARC will come my way before February 26th but if not, then I’ll be waiting for my pre-order copy. And as soon as it arrives, I’ll be diving into this one. I know I’m not ready for the emotional rollercoaster because Rebecca’s books are so intense, but they are everything I could wish for in a romance book and more. Her writing is unparalleled.
