came across an article over at the Bibliophagist called the ABC book challenge. In this article she mentions her 5-star reads starting with a certain letter – you follow the alphabet from A-Z – and also books on the tbr starting with that specific letter. I think it’s a really fun way to showcase my favorite read books and also take a closer look at the books on my tbr.
I’ve decided to particularly look into my 4 and 5-star reads of 2018, since they’re my most recent reads.
I knew beforehand I’d probably come across quite some books starting with the letter M. Maybe not necessarily books I already read, but I knew I had some on my TBR. Looking
✰ 4 and 5 STAR READS STARTING WITH ‘M’
Cinderella meets the little mermaid and the hunger games. A great first book in a new series. Perfect for fans of mermaid retellings who love immersing themselves in a world below the surface, filled with some awesome and scary creatures.. perfect for fans who like adventure and action and a tiny bit of romance. A romance that’s bound to develop more strongly in the next book and I’m already soooo excited to read more of. It’s Perfect for readers who like coming across like-able characters, main character and minor characters alike.
Maybe someone like You by Stacy Wise
This was my first Stacy Wise book and I can’t wait to read more by this author. If you love a sweet, slow burn romance with some really amazing characters and lovable minor characters as well, low on angst, that is just a really addictive and light read… THIS is the book you need to put on your wishlist. This story was one I just couldn’t stop reading once started and finished in nearly one-sitting (I had to take care of my son at some point, lol otherwise I would’ve definitely finished it in one sitting)
My lady Jane (the Ladies Janies #1)
by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows
This was a book I received in 2017 but I didn’t get around to actually read it until January 2018. And I regretted it so much, for having waited so long before reading this book because this was just a phenomenal read! a Lady Jane Grey re-telling with some added magic/fantasy elements,
such lovable characters and a-ma-zing writing.
I am so hooked on these historical fiction re-tellings by these authors and this is a book I’d recommend to anyone!
Most of all You by Mia Sheridan
I’ve only read three books by this author so far but all of them have been such magnificent reads. Most of all you was yet again a book that provided me with such a beautiful reading experience. This author has such a beautiful way with words. Her stories are sad, heartbreaking but so beautiful at the same time. Her characters are so realistic and I recommend her books to anyone who loves reading romance with a lot of depth into the story and characters.
Mister Romance (Masters of Love #1)
by Leisa Rayven
I fell in love HARD with this authors writing years ago when I read her Starcrossed books. They are still one of my faves to re-read. Mister Romance wasn’t As good as the Starcrossed books to me, but still so frigging enjoyable and a great first book in a new series! Leisa is an author that has me hooked within minutes. Her characters are so exciting to read about and her romances are devastatingly beautiful and sexy! A must-read author to anyone who loves a good romance and some drama from time to time, humor and sexy writing!
The Mistake (Off-Campus #2)
by Elle Kennedy
| | REVIEW |
In general, this story was just so much fun to read.
I think I love it even more than the first book in the series haha. I love sports romance and especially when it involves hockey players so that’s a big plus already. And Elle’s writing is just so frigging addictive which is another big plus haha.
Then there’s the romance. The romance and the sexy stuff is really well balanced out with the rest of the story-line and had me swooning so hard. MUST-READ series!
This one was such a joy to read! I was hooked right from the very first page and it left me craving more. It’s a really great read, consisting of an enticing story that takes place in some really awesome settings. There’s a nice balance when it comes to story-line, character development, and romance development, alongside some steamy scenes. It contained just about everything I’m looking for in paranormal romance so this is one I’d definitely recommend!
Book 1-4 in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews
This series is perfect for fans of paranormal/urban fantasy stories! I’m beginning to understand as to why these authors are so insanely popular within the book community, and I’m really excited to meet them in London next year! These books always start off a bit slow to me but at some point, I’m so completely hooked and then I just can’t stop reading anymore.
