[ABC BOOKCHALLENGE] ✰ L
came across an article over at the Bibliophagist called the ABC book challenge. In this article she mentions her 5-star reads starting with a certain letter – you follow the alphabet from A-Z – and also books on the tbr starting with that specific letter. I think it’s a really fun way to showcase my favorite read books and also take a closer look at the books on my tbr.
I’ve decided to particularly look into my 4 and 5-star reads of 2018, since they’re my most recent reads.
I’m definitely not disappointed by finding 4 books that I’ve read in 2018 with the letter K that are at least 4 star reads. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of these 4 books so so much and some of them are now on my all-time favorite list! Let me tell you a bit more about them!
✰ 4 and 5 STAR READS STARTING WITH ‘L’
Let’s get Textual by Teagan Hunter (Texting #1)

What a great read! I enjoyed reading this book so so much and finished it in one sitting. It was unputdownable! I’d recommend this to anyone who’s interested in a funny (Laugh out loud funny) and (sweet AF) romantic read. GO BUY THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW! Everyone needs a book like this in their life! Let yourself fall in love with Zach, Zoe and their adorable romance… and their little baby goat

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare (The Dark Artifices #1)

I did a re-read of Lady Midnight in 2018 and loved it even more so the second time around. This is such a great first book in this new trilogy within the shadowhunter world. I’d definitely recommend reading the other shadowhunter books first tho.
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare (The Dark Artifices #2)
| | REVIEW |
I also did a re-read of Lord of Shadows in 2018, to prepare myself for the release of Queen of Air and Darkness. This was an phenomenal read, one that’s characteristic for Clare and anyone who is familiar with her work will know what I mean when I say: THIS IS CLARE AT HER BEST!! You ‘feel’ Clare put her everything in the book and I couldn’t be more happy about that <3
Lost Rider by Harper Sloan (Coming Home #1)

This was my first read by this author and I fell in love hard!
I love this trilogy so so much! The characters are just awesome,
the romance is so beautiful and the writing is amazing.
I also love the fact that this book, as well as the other two, are low on angst.
This is really refreshing for a contemporary romance I think and I really liked this! Highly recommend this book and the other two in the trilogy as well!
Leo by Mia Sheridan

Remarkable characters, remarkable romance and remarkable writing. Mia Sheridan has yet to disappoint me but I don’t think she ever will. Her writing is so enthralling and beautiful and I can’t recommend her books enough if you’re into contemporary romance. But her books definitely don’t focus on the romance part alone. Her characters and their development throughout the books are just so wonderful to read about.
Lifel1k3 by Jay Kristoff (Lifel1k3 #1)
| |
This was such a fantastic read! I came to the love the YA Sci-Fi genre a lot over the years, so of course I had to read this one. I loved Jay’s previous work within this genre – the Illuminae Files for example, which he wrote with Amie Kaufman – and this book exceeded my expectations as well. It’s filled with awesome Sci-Fi elements like robotic fighting which provides you with some awesome and epic action scenes. There are really interesting settings, a fast-paced storyline, a bit of romance and the most wonderful characters to be found in this book as well.
All this is wrapped up in Jay’s writing-style, which had me hooked from beginning till end. A book you can easily read in one sitting. One started, you can’t stop.
Lock ‘N Load by Tee O’Fallon (Federal K-9 #1)
| | REVIEW |
As far as suspense romance goes, this first book in a new series is a HIT.
I have a weak spot when it comes to K-9 dogs in books, so when I came across this book I got really excited to read it since one of the main characters is a sexy K-9 handler and the synopsis sounded intriguing and angst-ridden. And I wasn’t wrong to be excited! I’m normally not all that into thrillers, but the thriller elements in this story are so perfectly balanced out with the rest of the story-line and the developing romance, that I came to love the thriller elements A LOT.
And there’s so much more to tell about this book, so check out my

Law of Attractionby Alison Bliss (Tangled in Texas #3)
| | REVIEW |
Alison Bliss has a great way of writing I think. It made me feel connected with the characters right from the start. I was glued to the pages from the beginning ’till the end. This is definitely a series you should give a go when you’re into romance reads with some angst and drama, humor, a hot steamy and well-developed romance and just overall addictive writing. check out my
